Valentine’s Day Roses
When it comes to roses, Valentine’s Day is one of the most prolific days for sending this beautiful flower. Though there are many other holidays where this flower is used as a sign of love, Valentine’s Day is still at the top of the list. In the United States alone, more than 150 million roses are sent during this holiday for lovers.

Different colors of roses mean different things. White roses mean purity and innocence, while the infamous red rose is the symbol for romantic love. If you are dating someone, but you are not really sure about being truly in love with them, then give that special person pink roses. It tells them that you have feelings for the person, but you are not quite ready to take that next step.

Because the red rose is so synonymous with Valentine’s Day, many companies are creating ways to market their products within rose containers. Some jewelry companies have created jewelry boxes in the shape of a rose, complete with long stem. You can also buy a chocolate rose wrapped in an aluminum red rose covering. For some people, the idea of having something that will last a lifetime means more than something that only lasts a few days. Due to this, you can purchase a bouquet of silk roses that look and feel much the same as real one. However, you do not have to worry about keeping them watered, or having to throw them away a few days after receiving them.

For those who prefer the real thing, you can always keep them around longer by finding ways of preserving them. This can be done in the traditional way of pressing them in a book, or by drying them in a bunch. When pressing them, be sure to put the flowers between sheets of wax paper. This helps the flower dry more naturally, while keeping the rose from bleeding into the book pages. When drying your flowers, tie the entire bouquet together at the bottom and hang upside down. Once the flowers are completely dry, spray with hairspray. This will help keep the flowers from losing their petals and leaves.

Another way to give the one you love the feel of real roses is by giving them scented candles that smell like the real thing. These can be purchased at just about any major retailer or through any specialty shops. If you do decide to go this route, make sure to choose a candle made from rose hip oils. It gives the candle a softer scent, while maintaining the authentic rose smell. You can also buy rose hip oils at many specialty shops. This can be applied to a bouquet of silk roses to give them that real rose scent.

When you want to tell someone you love them, there are hundreds of ways to do so. But, if you are looking for a reason to give someone a bouquet of roses, Valentine’s Day does not have to be your only option. Plus, you do not have to go the traditional route when giving flowers on this special day.
